hello
I’m just starting out on this fantastic new lifestyle. My question is “what is beneficial for me to start my day with: a fruit smoothie or a veggie smoothie?”. I need to lose about 155lbs.

How long the datox happens and when it is serious enough (like a sinus infection) to see a conventional doctor.
Also, Why, if I am on an 80/10/10 for 20 days, why I am not losing weight like crazy?

What if your having troubles digesting raw foods?
June 5th, 2008 at 11:02 am
My daughter is only 15 yrs. old and has type I diabetes since she was 10. I am hoping a raw food diet might help reverse this disease, I have heard that it helps but I would like to see her off the insulin shots. Have you heard any good news about type I diabetics??? Thank you, Karyn Kirkland, Wash.

When one initially embraces the raw path, can one expect an adjustment period or detoxing to occur in the body which could be reflected in beginning blood tests? I ask because my liver blood tests shot up when I began a vegan diet, while other areas of my blood work improved. It could be completely unrelated to the diet change, but who knows. I’m to have another blood test in two weeks.

What does one need to know about raising babies on the raw diet? Are there any foods that require cooking/any foods that are indigestible raw? Wiil I need to supplement vitamin b-12 in some form?
June 5th, 2008 at 11:32 am
Shouldn’t we include raw and minimally cooked foods? I have seen information indicating cooking broccoli and carrots just a tad releases more of the beneficial antioxidants than eating raw.

Is the raw food diet deficient in anything ?? really..I have heard so much of the B-12 controvercy. I even read an artical that said that b-12 is not really a vitamin at all, it is a bacteria, and that if we wern’t so bacteria phobic (cleaning everything to death) we would have plenty of b-12.(via plants straight from the garden) and i believe that mother nature knew what she was doing. It is just like the controversie of vitamin D, synthetics verses sun exposure, of course in this case mother nature new what she was doing and the sun is the best way to get vitamin D . Sooo I believe it is the same with B-12,(and everything else) (even the fact that they claim that carrots need to be coocked some to break down the cells to make it digestable) (do you believe that??)(That somehow it is supplied in our natural diet)be it bacteria or whatever.I mean we (as a society)are always trying to improve on mother nature. It can’t be done. What is your take on this issue,
I know this is a second question but I have so many.
When can you start giving raw food to babies, and how would you do it.
and is the new packaged raw food as good as preparing it yourself?? I mean I know packaged ,processed, organic food, such as (boxed anything canned soups, frozen meals, ect) are still very detrimental to your health even though they are organic, but I also think they serve their purpose and are a psychological stepping stone for many people who wouldn’t go raw or organic without this step.
Also I would like to hear someone address the topic of juice to the people, as I know a lot of people who think that juice of any kind (bottled)are all equal(if organic)(so they pay organic prices for dead juice). No one seems to address the fact that for juice to be good living food it has to be fresh and raw. not pasturized and processed, anyway I would like this point to be made to the public to clear up this fallacy and so the people will start putting their hard earned grocery money into real food(juice).
sorry I just kinda go off when I get started. anyway It would be nice if some of these issues could be addressed.
Are you familiar with the web site “How to go Raw” If so would you recommend it?? “(How to use a normally destructive, psychological Human flaw, to subconsciously push you to going raw, and to feel confident, comfortable and secure in your choice.(The great thing is that this works without you even being aware of the process. You don’t even have to know about this to make it work…it just does, so long as you are an ACTIVE member of How To Go Raw.com)” this is their actual words taken from their website.
Whew, take a breather
so much for the weaning process

My question is: Is the 80/10/10 diet a safe diet, isn’t it too much sugar in the system, isn’t it to unbalance your chemistry?
June 5th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
Interested in knowing how the protein in wheat grass and grains compares to fish or chicken, say. Will I be protein deficient?
Cheers

How to maintain your raw living foods focus when your entire family is SAD? Also, rejuvelac….do you, personally, use it? How often? Did incorporating it in your diet increase your success with raw foods?
Thanks!

Does the value of raw foods (digestibility, assimilation) depend on your metabolic body type, ayurvedic type, blood type, etc.?
Thank you.

When I go 100% raw, I am always COLD!!! What foods would help to heat me up? Do you believe in onion and garlic OR NONE on the raw food diet?
Thank you!!

Hi
I have been Raw for 4 months & love it!
I am wondering about the use of Grains i.e sprouted grain breads from health food shops & is that considered Raw I have been advised all grain is not an opption?
As I ahve a three year old who is growing & goes for carbs by choice whats you take on kids & how to transition them into Raw.
The last question I have is what would you consider grounding Raw foods as I wonder am I in a kind of lighter state that may make me feel good but perhaps less practical/logical in some ways??? Just a thought.
Thank you look forward to the call.

When you do the crash detox at the Chi institute for a week or more, does the process get the black, impacted fecal matter out of the system? Does a juice feast for 40 days naturally flush the impacted fecal matter? Do you believe in all the hype about impacted fecal matter building up over a lifetime? Will just going 100% raw clear this out over a period of several years or are enemas always required for such removal?

Hey Jim!
My biggest question…
I want to become 100% Raw Vegan, (transitioning gently! from my toxic omnivorous lifestyle!) and I’m wondering if
when I’m 100% Raw Vegan, I can occasionally have small quantities of 100% organic goat milk, and other dairy from it? Or does this disqualify me as 100% Raw Vegan? And
What are the side effects of goat milk dairy? I really don’t want mucoid plaque in my intestines!
~Thanks!

Does anyone know a natural remedy for rosacea? I intuitively think it is raw foods, but I’m struggling to be 100%. Also, I think I need to radically purify first and completely go off all sugar (including fruit) but this is so hard when I am transitioning. Does that mean no green smoothies? If anyone can give me good info about rosacea/raw foods I’d be delighted!

My question is what are all the ways to do raw food storage for long term supplies of food? I know about dehydrating fruits and veggies and storing of seeds for sprouting and nuts but what about any raw canning recipes that require no heat? I found one recipe that is for a raw pickle that does not require heating when canning the cucs. I would love to find one for a raw jam that can sit on a shelf and not in a fridge or freezer.
Are there any other recommended recipes for raw food storage that don’t require electricity (freezing) or heat?

I have started the raw food diet several times over the past few years. However, I have not been able to stay on it because I become copper toxic since vegan diets are higher in copper than zinc. I have started once again and have been taking supplements, zinc and other minerals. I hope that I can stay on the diet this time. What do you know of this problem? I’m told by a couple of health professionals that I have to eat an animal protein diet to combat this as they have tried to be vegan also and the diet didn’t work for them. Copper toxicity affects the adrenals and the liver and I have had problems with both for several years now and I would really like to resolve this issue. Thank you

How is Ann’s program different from others?
How do you get someone who doesn’t like fruit and veggies to try raw.

Hi Jim!….How do you overcome constant hunger? I was raw for 1 month and the majority of it was spent thinking about what to eat next and losing any enthusiasm for my choices at hand. Greens seemed to be the only thing that kept me full for about 1 hour or more. Thanks! You are inspirational!

After the last teleseminar, I purchased Green for Life and 12 Steps to Raw Foods. In 12 Steps to Raw Foods she give a list of favorite raw-food kitchen equipment.
Vita-Mix Blender, Champion Juicer, Cuisinart and the Excalibur Dehydrator. These item are some what costly. There are several sites that sell this items. Can you recommend a site?

I’d really like to hear about the whole Vitamin D issue, since I live in the Pacific Northwest and may already be “D” deficient (awaiting blood level). Love what you’re doing, Jim! Thank you!

June 5th, 2008 at 8:28 pm
I have been an vegetarian for over 20 years, no sugar, bread, dairy etc don’t loose weight could I have problems with my thyroid? I am now doing green smoothies 1 or 2 times per day with banan added. Also do 3 x p/w 1 hr. exercise, and walk 1/2 hr 3 xp/w. senior and hope to loose weight.

Sounds I need to have the colon cleanse done by a nurse 10 times the way you talked about colon cleanse and do my own enemas to get cleaned out.
