  1. Bruce Wallace Says:

Hi Jim and thank you very much for Why Suffer which I enjoyed very much. I only get a blank box for the video. I lived in Honolulu from 67-75 and now have been on Bainbridge Island near Seattle since 79. We are having excellent success with growing wheatgrass and juicing it nearly every morning with carrots, celery and beets. Mahalo nui loa, Bruce

  2. Linda Says:

    Thank you Jim

Thought the conversation went well my only comment is would have liked to hear more specifics…..
Like what she ate, some insight into that…
Does she do a lot of dehydrating etc does she make juices does she have any tricks…
Always good to hear the personal for me
    Thanks
    Linda

  3. Michelle Says:

Thanks Jim. I am happy for her that it was so easy for her to switch to raw. I am wondering how common it is for people to find it that easy. I am a long-time vegetarian and 5-year vegan who has been trying to go raw for at least 4 years. I think if I had been as heavy as she was and reached my breaking point of feeling awful, I would be able to jump into it better. But I feel great and look great and seem to have trouble sticking with the raw diet, which I believe is the best diet.

  4. Eileen Fitzgerald Says:

Jim, Am hearing impaired, so have trouble with audio. Am
very interested in the raw food diet; i juice daily and
eat 80% raw, have grown wheatgrass, buckwheat greens, was to Ann Wigmore’s back in ‘87, have did much reading
Walker, Kirchner, Halleujah Acres, Natural Hygiene, etc.
am committed to natural health–am age 70 and do have a
very high stress life as have a brain damaged daughter age 46 who lives with us–try to also keep her on the
    diet.

  5. Maryann Says:

I enjoyed the audio presentation very much. However, I found my attention wandering, as I expected a video presentation. Eileen is quite attractive, but just looking at her picture for almost 15 minutes was actually distracting. Perhaps, you can present it as an audio instead, or put some sort of slide show with it.

    Thanks,
    Maryann

  6. Leslie Says:

Just listened to Eileen. Thanks for sharing her story with us. Hope to hear more success stories.

  7. Gosia Says:

    Thank you for the interview.
    It’s really inspiring

  8. Meralyn Stewart Says:

    Hello Jim
Thank you for sending the video, it was clear, easy to listen to apart from the fact that my dial up connection is slow. It inspired me to try more recipes and to get into more of a routine with the diet and to look after myself better. Encouraged that with food sharing she had people interested in her food, and was taking classes, because I often feel almost apologetic for having a different diet. An attitude swing on my part will help myself and others.

Thank you for all you are doing to encourage people to greatly improved health.

    Regards
    Meralyn

  9. Mary Says:

I really enjoyed hearing Eileen’s story. I “almost” encourages me to “try” to go raw BUT I have no idea how to even begin to prepare raw foods as a meal. BUT I really enjoyed the interview.
    Thank You
    Mary

  10. sharon Says:

Thanks for the story. Came through clear. Was inspiring!

  11. Norma Arney Says:

    Video worked fine——-thank you.

  12. Norma Arney Says:

It’s nice to hear from an ordinary person who was successful with the raw foods plan.

  13. sara'i Says:

    very clear. thank you!

  14. Melissa Says:

First I thought all I was going to see was the blank screen. Then I got to the play button. I then got to 2 pictures. The audio was broken and was not able to really get her testimonal in any sort of fluidity.
Too bad. Keep on working on it. Great message.
    I love living food.

  15. Shirley Says:

Great success story! Wish there had been more time to go into her diet strategy. Need some ideas on menus.

Thanks for all your hard work

    Shirley

  16. Jim Says:

Thanks everyone for your comment. My email has been swamped! Over 400 emails… good lord do my fingers hurt from responding.

there was some miscommunication, but the “video” is a video, but it’s really just the audio interview put into a video format.

I also put up the mp3 if you’d like to download it.

In most cases if you can’t watch the entire video it may be due to your internet connection. “Dial up” is a slower download, while cable or dsl is quicker.

(I learned all of that nerdy stuff while in the computer industry)

    Mahalo,

    Jim

  17. Susan Slupski Says:

I have dial-up and its very slow and the video stops.

  18. Michele Says:

    Hi,
I got the audio fine, and it was really inspiring, however I agree that it would’ve been interesting to find out what what sot of raw diet she’s following.
    Michele x

  19. Curtis Hendricks Says:

The audio came through fine. Listened to it all. No problem. You said it was a video but all I saw was two pictures ofan attractive young lady that I assumed was Eileen.

I have trouble going raw because I have not been able to make anything tasty enough for me to stick with. Where can I get recipes to enable me to change over? I do think that that is the way to go.

  20. Glynda Says:

Great story! Can we get some menus and food ideas for us beginners?

  21. Elaine Lembo Says:

I was able to hear everything really clear.
    Thank you

  22. Randy Allen Says:

Receieved the audio fine. Loved this young ladies testimony! Would like to take a class from her! What is her website?

My mother faced a 4th stage cancer diagnosis in 1975 and given only 3 months to live. Here is the story:

Our Mother… A Story of Inspiration… and Hope

In 1977, our mother went into surgery to have a suspicious mole removed from the calf of her left leg. Five hours later the doctors came out to to tell us how serious her condition was. A large malignant tumor needed to be removed. They went back into surgery and in another five hours later it was completed.

A second ten hour surgery removed Stage 4 malignant lymph nodes from her groin area. After one year of chemotherapy and a year of BCG injections (a live TB virus guinea pig therapy), she had more malignant large tumors growing and protruding in her left leg.

She knew more chemo would kill her, if the cancer didn’t. She was becoming weaker and weaker. The chemo treatments drained everything out of her. Approximately two years from when the cancer was first detected, the doctors told her that she was terminally ill with a zero percent chance of survival. What she had the MD’s called “Black Cancer”. With five large tumors in her left leg and walking on crutches, she returned home with the grim words of our medical establishment ringing in her mind saying that she would die within days, weeks and at a maximum - three months.

Our brother took a book on cancer and nutrition to her. She made a decision to leave the hospital against the doctors’ orders. The MD’s even had the audacity to tell her that if she went to do this alternative therapy that she would die. What hope did they offer her?

For nine months she ate exculsively raw orgainic whole foods. She also juiced fifty pounds of carrots a week for 1-1/2 years and she went 100% raw! The D.O. had her on very specific and high doses of various vitamins, minerals and other nutritional supplements. She also had laetrile (vitamin B 17 ) and Interferon shots given to her for a period of time. Throughout the process our mother maintained a positive attitude and looked to God for strength, guidance and encouragement. She used laughter as a medicine every day. Gradually she incorporated cooked whole foods into her dietary regime.

Our mother went from being on crutches to a cane to taking up a dance form called clogging to strengthen her legs and for enjoyment. She started her own clogging team called the Wildwood Cloggers who performed at many functions throughout the Miami Valley and even in National events. She gave classes at her home where Dad converted their garage to a dance studio. Her doctor D.O. encouraged her just to “keep on dancing”.

Though our mom has retired from the clogging scene, today at the age of 75, she is still spry as ever and is still cancer free living with her husband of over 55 years.

She has never let the family forget her favorite word……. Hope.

At a time when nutrition was a taboo subject in the everyday world, let alone the medical world, her courage to fight for her life has inspired us and continually provides us with a source of inspiration and hope.

This we pass on to you………………

    WHERE GOD IS NOW

    Gods, Male and Female

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,

Great!inspiring. It’s always exciting when its new for people. Then the food starts creeping back in. I want to get back to raw, but its cold here and I just want cooked food! I’ve not given up though.
    Thanks, KP

yes jim i was able to listen and see eileen’s video, thanks for what your doing !!

  28. Monika Says:

Hi Jim, I was able to hear the audio clearly. However the video didn’t stream so all I saw were the two pictures of Eileen. I have a DSL connection and the latest versions of various media players, so I think perhaps the format needs tweaking.

    Monika

  29. jeff larson Says:

The audio was fine. As far as video only two pictures

  30. Peter Olsen Says:

I’m on dial-up so it is taking forever to download the file… it stops and starts in dribs and drabs. Two pictures… no video!

  31. cr Says:

audio is fine, no vidoe only 2 pics

  32. Susan S Says:

I heard the audio just fine, but there wasn’t any video. I applaud Eileen’s determination. I am in my second year of being a raw vegan- and every now and then I have had a piece of pizza or other food, and it reminds me of how good you feel when eating raw and how bad you feel when eating cooked and processed. I too, have started teaching classes in my area. It really is amazing how many people are sincerely interested, but need the help to get started.

  33. Debbie Says:

At first I was expecting a video clip…but that was fine, since the audio was still very good, both sound and in quality of the interview/topic.

Thanks for sharing this with me. It’s a great, and inspirational testimonial.

    - Debbie

  38. Bartholomew Says:

The war is raging, nature is winning, the Raw food life style is the heart beat of every living. Human beings are finding their pathway back to their root through the living food. I wrote and article in the ‘CHRISTENDOM International Magazine’, one of the monthly magazines in Nigeria; on the topic, ‘Some Diseases and the medicinal uses of Water Melon’.

The respnses have been coming in, people have been calling my line to know more on how water melon could help in the healing of High blood presure. We are on the winning side.

  39. violet Says:

i really enjoyed the interview with eileen. i too think it is important to educate people as to eating raw on the go, and social eating. we all have long days of running errands, unexpected side-tracks, or spontaneous surprises of events, so it is good to hear that other people do live raw, and live raw easily. when i go out for the day, i pack up some fruit/veg and nuts in the car with lots of water, so my blood sugar does not drop to the point of making unwise food-decisions.
i noticed, after recently transitioning to a living foods way of eating, i am finding that i am gentler with myself in regards to if {and when} i slip up [i'm only human!] than ever before.

keep on sharing information to interested parties like me out there!

    be well,
    violet
